THE PLAYBOOK STARTING LINEUP: DR. SHAE ROBINSON-MOSLEY
The Playbook platform is built by licensed mental health and medical providers working across Olympic, collegiate, and pro sports. Our core team applied evidence-based methods and best practices, translating them into digital tools designed specifically for athletes and teams in the sports ecosystem.
We tell you about our platform all the time–now, we’d like to tell you about the people who bring it to life:
MEET DR. SHAE ROBINSON-MOSLEY
PH.D., PA-C, M.ED., ATC
CHIEF RESEARCH OFFICER | HEAD OF ADOLESCENT HEALTH & SPORTS MEDICINE
I ensure our work remains grounded in scientific best practices and is guided by the real experiences and needs of athletes.
As Chief Research Officer at the Playbook,
I lead the research that drives our technology, utilizing evidence-based approaches to support athlete mental health and performance.
As Head of Sports Medicine and Adolescent Health,
I’ve used my clinical expertise, sports medicine background, and research experience to build platforms and programs that promote the physical and mental well-being of adolescent and young adults.
ABOUT ME
An Atlanta-based Detroit native - I’m a physician assistant, researcher, and former athletic trainer, bringing nearly 20 years of experience supporting young people’s physical and mental well-being on and off the field.
I hold degrees from Eastern Michigan University (B.S.), Grand Valley State University (M.Ed.), and Emory University (MMSc), and recently completed my Ph.D. in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University, where my research examines how injury impacts mental health and suicide risk among college athletes. What up doe!
“OUTSIDE” ME
I am equal parts scholar and kettlebell kouign.
I have a healthy obsession with my dog, Winston (The Girl!)
I love exploring cultures through food and drink (especially coffee).
I am a very adventurous eater. I will try (almost) anything.
I think I would’ve made a great veterinarian. I love animals!
My favorites are African elephants and humpback whales. Armadillos (like the one in the picture) are pretty cool, too.

My FAVORITE FEATURE OF THE PLAYBOOK:
As both a researcher and clinician, what I love most about The Playbook is the ability to track and quantify mental health trends over time.
This gives real context to mental health data, moving us beyond isolated snapshots toward understanding meaningful patterns.
