THE PLAYBOOK STARTING LINEUP: DR. T.M. ROBINSON-MOSLEY
The Playbook platform is built by licensed mental health and medical providers working across Olympic, collegiate, and pro sports. Our core team applied evidence-based methods and best practices, translating them into digital tools designed specifically for athletes and teams in the sports ecosystem.
We tell you about our platform all the time–now, we’d like to tell you about the people who bring it to life:
MEET DR. MOSLEY
FOUNDER & CEO, THE PLAYBOOK
Dr. T.M. Robinson-Mosley, Founder & CEO of The Playbook, is a nationally recognized expert in high-performance environments, with past leadership roles as Assistant Dean at Dartmouth College and Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students at UC Santa Cruz.
For over a decade, she has served as a Consulting Psychologist for the Big 4+ professional sports leagues, the NCAA, and the U.S. Air Force, working closely with national championship teams.
Her research and fieldwork directly shaped The Playbook’s evidence-based technology.
Inc. 500:
Dr. Mosley was recently named to Inc. Magazine's Female Founder 500, recognizing the top women entrepreneurs leading public and private companies.
MY WHY:
I come from a family where both mental health and high performance were the family business.
My mother, Dr. Linda J. Mosley, and her twin sister, Dr. Brenda Kennedy (now retired), were among the few Black women psychologists in Alabama. My father, Nathan T. Mosley, Sr., is a disabled Air Force veteran, and my uncle, Cleon Jones, famously caught the last out in the 1969 World Series for the New York "Miracle" Mets.
I also have cousins who have gone on to play in the NFL and Major League Baseball—continuing our family’s long legacy in sports.
Growing up in this environment, I developed a deep respect for both the science of the mind and the spirit of competition.
As an athlete, I have gold and silver medals in USA Boxing tournaments, and I played rugby while attending LSU for graduate school. Through those experiences, I learned firsthand that while people often focus on the extraordinary things athletes can do, they rarely have the tools or awareness to recognize when high performers are struggling beneath the surface.
That’s why we created The Playbook: to give athletes, teams, and organizations quantifiable metrics for mental health—so they can recognize trends, take action early, and strengthen both well-being and performance. Our goal is to make mental health tracking and support as normal and accessible as physical training—a true gamechanger for sports and beyond.
…well-being isn’t just about performance—it’s about connection, purpose, and the importance of slowing down and being present.
FUN FACT:
Believe it or not, I found part of my dream job on a horse farm!
I volunteer as a ranch hand at one of the only minority-owned equine-assisted therapy centers in Georgia—and one of just five in the nation.
Home to 18 horses across 100 beautiful acres, the ranch has welcomed thousands of underserved kids, veterans, and families, offering them the healing power of horses. It’s a reminder that well-being isn’t just about performance—it’s about connection, purpose, and the importance of slowing down and staying present.
Horses aren’t all serious… that’s why they call it horseplay. Well, I guess Vogue magazine might call it horse-relaxation. Besides being the magic behind the best self-care regimens, horses are interesting animals with big emotions and even bigger personalities.
My FAVORITE FEATURE OF THE PLAYBOOK:
My favorite part about The Playbook is tracking my stress, well-being, and bounce back scores month to month. It transforms self-care from something I know I should do into something I can actively measure and improve.
Having that data at my fingertips keeps me accountable to myself and reminds me that taking care of my mental health is just as important as any other healthy habit I practice daily.
